Keep in mind that to legally register your marriage in India both parties will need the following original documents:

1. Passport
2. Return Airline Ticket
   
3. Birth Certificate
   
4. Certificate of No Impediment from
   your local Register Office abroad.
   
5. If divorced, Absolute Decree
   
6. If widowed, Death Certificate of spouse
   & previous Marriage Certificate
   
7. If name changed, legal proof of name change
   
8. Proof of Residency ( from local authorities in Goa )
   of minimum 30 days
   

The process for getting legally married, like any governmental bureaucratic process in India, is tedious and time consuming. Someday you might spend many hours at a Government office waiting for a specific official to attend to your case.
